Vocal Training for Flute

Join opera singer and Estill Master Trainer Stefan Holmström for an inspiring three part course that will help you to see, hear and feel your voice - and your flute playing - in a new way.

You will gain an understanding of how your voice works and begin to train specific parts of your voice that are especially beneficial for flautists.

Estill Voice Training (EVT) is a scientific approach to vocal development founded by American voice researcher Jo Estill who sought answers to the simple question "How am I doing this?". The result is a practical method that is used worldwide by singers, speakers, pedagogues and clinicians alike.

When it comes to the flute, we are often focused on things that we can easily see and feel, like the lips and fingers for example. However, many of EVT's concepts and several of its voice structures apply equally to flute because what happens in your larynx and vocal tract when you are playing has consequences for both your sound and vocal health.

The information presented in this course complements traditional teaching of the flute by empowering you with knowledge of your voice and how to use it more effectively and sustainably.

Ticket prices: Full price: £85 per person (Early Bird: £75 by 30 April 2024) Students: £75 per person (Early Bird: £65 by 30 April 2024)
