International Flute Competition Ferdinand W.Neess - application deadline May 1

The second International Flute Competition Ferdinand W.Neess takes place from June 26 to June 30 at the Museum Wiesbaden in Wiesbaden, Germany. Held every 2 years, it honors the late Ferdinand W. Neess, renowned art collector, patron, and flutist, and aims to unite the visual arts and music of the Art Nouveau era, reflecting Neess' interests. In the spirit of Neess, the competition welcomes soloists of all ages (18+) and nationalities, fostering creativity and inclusivity.

The participation of professional and non-professional flutists is explicitly encouraged.

The application deadline is May 1.

2nd prize:
3,000 Euros
3rd prize:
2,000 Euros

The competition is held via two rounds of performances of music from around 1900, with the first round including a specially comissioned piece, Emile Naoumoff’s Sonata for flute and piano. The jury is: Professors Cordula Hacke, Anna Garzuly, Prof. Dejan Gavrić, Michel Moragues and Joern Schau
