Pan Journal
Our journal Pan is an entertaining, informative guide to all aspects of the flute and flute playing. You’ll receive a print copy three times a year plus digital access and access to the online archive spanning nearly 40 years.
Member directory
Meet fellow players with our members-only directory, where you can find and contact other members, find flute-related businesses, and create a profile with description, social links and images.
Competitions entry
Our annual Competitions gives players of all ages the chance to perform in front of leading flautists, with individual feedback and prizes from companies such as Yamaha, Pearl Flutes and Just Flutes.
Online video series
Our weekly video series features guidance from top players, available to watch exclusively in our members’ area - covering everything from masterclasses and technical advice to warmups and wellbeing.
Local support
Our UK-wide and international network of BFS Area Representatives provide local support and organise local events and meetups.

You’ll get discounted entry to online and in-person BFS events such as flute days, festivals, and conventions - which bring top talent to play and teach. Members also receive regular emails full of flute-related events.

Members can get their events seen by the flute community through free listing in Pan journal, on our website and on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
Get your news & ads in Pan
Members can share their professional updates in the news section of Pan for free. If you’re looking to sell or buy something or find musical collaborators, you can also submit personal classified ads for free.
