The British Flute Society Competitions is an annual competition for flute players. This year, it will be held online for the first time - with performances submitted by video, and two virtual Competitions Events.
There's the same top adjudicators and prizes as ever, but some other exciting changes, too: we have a new category for adult amateur players, and a series of Special Awards honouring pieces by female and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic composers, and for piccolo and low flutes. We’re also running a financial aid scheme for anyone who would otherwise not be able to enter.
Entrants must sign up by February 7, and then have until February 14 to submit a video performance (via unlisted Youtube video). Entries will be shortlisted before final round judging and the winners will be announced at our Zoom Competitions Events on February 21 and 28.
Spectators are welcome to attend these events - more details will be given nearer the time.
Adjudicators and prizes will be announced shortly.

Cost and Financial Assistance
The entry fee is £10. All entrants must be members of the British Flute Society - individual membership is from £25 - £35. If cost is an obstacle to entering, financial aid is available. We’re also offering the chance to sponsor a player who requires financial aid (either part or the whole cost of entry).
