Announcing the Galway Flute Festival 2022 BFS Awards

We’re delighted to announce the Galway Flute Festival 2022 BFS Awards - two Auditor places at the prestigious Galway Flute Festival 2022 this June. These awards, each worth $375 USD, are generously offered by Sir James and Lady Jeanne Galway, who will also be adjudicating the competition.

About the Galway Flute Festival

The 2022 Galway Flute Festival, now in its 33rd Year, will be taking place online from Wednesday 22 June until Sunday 26 June 2022, and able to view until 1st August 2022. Whether you’re a young or mature student, budding professional or flute enthusiast, the Galways have created a special festival for you.

As an Auditor, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the Festival in its entirety online. This includes viewing and virtually participating in Sir James & Lady Galway’s Practical Practice sessions, Interviews, Question and Answer opportunities, as well as group get-togethers and participating in the Festival Community Chat group, and more.

The entire festival will be recorded and available for viewing at your convenience after the festival until 1st August 2022. So, you can tune in any time and as many times you like, to take advantage of all they have to offer.

How to enter

  • To apply, please submit a video playing the pieces Tambourin (Gossec) and Danny Boy (traditional) by 11:59pm GMT on June 5 2022.

  • Please visit our Awards page for the full competition rules, PDFs of the sheet music, and the signup form. A form for submitting your video performance will be emailed to you once you have signed up.

  • Entry is open to all, irrespective of age, nationality or proficiency level.

  • There is a £15 entry fee, and all entrants must be members of the British Flute Society.

  • Please read the full competition rules carefully. Entrants who do not adhere to the rules will be disqualified.
