Sir James and Lady Jeanne Galway, who adjudicated the competition, were so impressed by the talent of the entrants that they chose three winners instead of two. They write:

On behalf of the 2022 Galway Flute Festival we are delighted to offer 3 places for passes to our festival to:

  • Rozhan Farajianarkouli

  • Mayukhjit Chakraborty

  • Joseph Geary

Congratulations to all applicants. The level being so high our decision was a difficult one. We hope to hear more from these young aspiring artists in years to come.

We welcome any of the applicants to our festival. Online passes are still available for purchase at www.galwayflutefestival.com.

Please let us know if you are attending so we can give you a warm welcome online.

Congratulations to the winners!

As Auditors, our three winners will enjoy the entire Festival online, viewing and participating in Sir James & Lady Galway’s Practical Practice sessions, interviews, Q&A opportunities, as well as group get-togethers, the Festival Community Chat group, and more.

We’re touched by their words on what this opportunity means to them:

“Participating in the class of Sir James and Lady Jeanne Galway has been my dream since childhood and I am very happy that this opportunity was created for me’ - Rozhan Farajianarkouli

“Being a flute enthusiast myself, Sir James Galway has always been my idol. Hence, winning this competition judged by Sir himself is a matter of utmost pride and honour. It is definitely the biggest achievement of my life" - Mayukhjit Chakraborty

“I am so delighted to have been given this opportunity and cannot wait to learn from this experience. Thank you so much." - Joseph Geary
