We're delighted to welcome Amy Yule, Principal Flute of the Hallé Orchestras, for the second of our online masterclasses. This day is designed for students under the age of 25 and Grade 7+ standard. Observers of any standard welcome.

Each participant will be able to access:-
40 minute dedicated slot to give them the opportunity to work with Stephen on a one to one basis on repertoire or orchestral excerpts of their choosing
Access and opportunity to contribute to Amy's two talks that will focus on breathing & vibrato alongside preparation for performance and audition advice.

Amy has recently started in her role as principal flute of the Hallé orchestra in Manchester, having previously held the same position with the Royal Northern Sinfonia in Gateshead. She has also appeared as guest principal flute with several other orchestras in the UK including the Philharmonia, Academy of St Martin in the Fields, London Philharmonic Orchestra and London Symphony Orchestra.
As a soloist Amy was awarded first place in the British Flute Society’s Young Artist competition 2017. Amy works regularly with pianist Seungwon Lee: recent performances include recitals at the Wigmore Hall and St John’s Smith Square. In summer 2017 she participated in Lars Vogt's chamber music festival ‘Spannungen’ in Heimbach, Germany in a variety of chamber ensemble combinations. As well as chamber music and solo commitments, Amy enjoys engaging with young musicians and has recently worked on projects with students from Leeds College of Music, Durham University, the National Youth Wind Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
Amy completed her Masters at the Royal Academy of Music in 2017. Whilst at the Academy she studied with Michael Cox and Karen Jones as well as piccolo with Pat Morris. She graduated with distinction, a DipRAM award and several prizes including the Patron’s Award, Woodwind Finalists’ Prize and the HRH Duchess of Gloucester Prize. Prior to this Amy studied for her undergraduate degree at the Royal Northern College of Music with Laura Jellicoe, Jo Boddington and Richard Davis. Amy's studies were generously supported by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and the Martin Musical Scholarship Fund.
